Determination of the assigned values (“true values” for each characteristic):
By statistical computation of the totality of the results with possible selection on competence criteria (accreditation, validation by a reference body, quantity of tests performed in the year), test to detect possible collusion, merging of results not obtained in reproductibility conditions, suppression of technically unvalid results.
Type of statistical computation:
Results are numerical. For each characteristic selected by the participant, 1 result shall be provided for each sample. The statistical computation will provide an assigned value with its attached uncertainty, values of standard deviations for repeatability, for reproductibility, limits of alerts for bias and repeatability of the participant, indiviual values for uncertainty of results of participants.

Special notice for this ILC: Results have to be numerical in order to be statistically handable. The number of samples is set up at 12, in order to make the estimation of standard deviation of results statistically relevant. So, to avoid tests to last too long and avoid costs of tests too high:
1. loading values will be severe but, however, will remain reasonably close to usual conditions;
2. steel is a stretched steel, which fatigue resistance is lower than hot rolled steels;
3. a special statistical procedure is used so that tests on samples showing the longest life may be stopped before rupture, saving an important amount of testing time.
